The Encyclopedia of Earth

The EIC (Environmental Information Coalition) launched the Encyclopedia of Earth in 2006 as a free, fully searchable online resource on the Earth, its natural environments, and their interaction with society. A global community of over 1,400 scholars, educators and professionals from 60 countries collaborate to produce quality and reliable environmental information for the web. Information includes articles, books, reports and curriculum resources that are written in non-technical language and available in various media formats.
