Information for the project

The Library following the guides of EUA (European University Association) from EUA Working Group on Open Access (Madrid, March 2008) proceeded to the creation of institutional repository. Regarding the choice of software the library consulted the guides of DRIVER (Digital Repository Infrastructure Vision for European Research), which referred in two softwares  of open code along with the protocol of harvest of data OAI-PMH, the E-prints and DSpace.

Technical Architecture

For the creation of the institutional repository the open code software Dspace have been chosen. The Dspace was developed in the workshops of Hewlett Packard as non-commercial product with the contribution of the Library of MIT.

The Library is fully compatible with the global standards as Dublin Core and is compatible with the harvest protocol metadata OAI-PMH. DSpace provides the possibility of information of digital collection from the user (self-deposit) and preserves the material that saved for a long-term period (long-term reservation).
